Directions
Preparing the Bruschetta
- Start by washing the Roma tomatoes thoroughly. Remove the stems and chop them into small, even pieces. This step is crucial to avoid a watery dip.
- In a medium bowl, combine the chopped tomatoes with the minced garlic, chopped basil, olive oil, balsamic vinegar, and salt. Allow these ingredients to mingle for about 15 minutes at room temperature. This tremendous melding of flavors is where the magic happens as the tomatoes absorb the seasonings.
Preparing the Cheese Mixture
- In a separate bowl, combine the crumbled feta cheese, softened cream cheese, sour cream, minced garlic, lemon juice, and olive oil. Using a mixer or a whisk, blend until you achieve a smooth and creamy consistency.
- Season the cheese mixture with salt to taste, being mindful of the saltiness from the feta. Mix again to ensure the salt is evenly distributed throughout the dip.
Assembling the Dip
- In a medium serving dish, start by layering the cheese mixture on the bottom. Spread it out evenly with a spatula for a nice base.
- Once the cheese layer is smooth, spoon the marinated tomato and basil mixture on top. Make sure to spread it evenly over the cheese for a beautiful presentation.
- To finish, sprinkle the chopped basil, red pepper flakes, and freshly grated Parmesan cheese on top. This final touch adds texture and enhances the dip’s overall flavor profile.
