Blueberry Cheesecake Rolls

Directions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). This is an important first step, as it ensures that your rolls achieve that tremendous golden-brown color while baking.

  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth. This mixture should be creamy and free of lumps for a perfect filling.

  3. Roll out the crescent roll dough on a floured surface and separate it into triangles. Keep the dough cold until you are ready to use it to maintain its flakiness.

  4. Spread a spoonful of the cream cheese mixture onto each triangle, and be generous but avoid overfilling. Top with a few blueberries, as this will create a tremendous flavor burst in every bite!

  5. Roll the dough from the wide end to the tip, forming a roll. Make sure to roll them tightly to prevent the filling from spilling out during baking.

  6. In a small bowl, whisk together the egg and water to create an egg wash. Brush the tops of the rolls with this mixture to help achieve a beautiful golden-brown finish.

  7. Place the rolls on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. This prevents any sticking and allows for easy cleanup after baking.

  8. Bake for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown. Keep an eye on them, as every oven is different. The rolls should be puffed and browned, signaling they are ready.

  9. Allow to cool slightly before serving. This step lets the filling set a little and prevents burns when taking a bite.
