Directions
-
Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). This step ensures that our tater tots will bake to a perfect crisp.
-
Cook the tater tots according to package instructions until crispy. The goal is to achieve that wonderful crunch that pairs beautifully with the filling.
-
In a skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat until browned. Make sure to drain excess fat to ensure your filling is not overly greasy.
-
Add cooked bacon, onion, and pickles to the browned beef. Season with salt and pepper. Stir the mixture well to combine all the tremendous flavors.
-
Once the tater tots are crispy, remove them from the oven and allow them to cool slightly. We want to make sure they’re manageable to work with when layering in our cones.
-
In each waffle cone, layer with tater tots, followed by the beef mixture, finishing off with a sprinkle of cheese. The layers should be generous but take care not to overfill them.
-
Place back in the oven for 5-7 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbly. This will create that delicious gooey topping that ties everything together.
-
Drizzle with ketchup and mustard before serving. The condiments not only enhance the flavor but also add a vibrant pop of color to your dish.
