Apple Caramel Bombs

Directions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper. This will ensure your Apple Caramel Bombs are easy to remove after baking.

  2. In a skillet over medium heat, melt the butter and add the diced apples. Sprinkle brown sugar, ground cinnamon, and nutmeg (if using) over the apples. Cook until they become soft and caramelized, which usually takes about 5-7 minutes. Once done, let them cool slightly.

  3. In a small bowl, combine the softened cream cheese and powdered sugar. Mix until smooth and creamy. This will create a deliciously rich filling that balances perfectly with the sweetness of the apples.

  4. Take each biscuit from the can and flatten it out with your hands. Place a generous spoonful of the cream cheese mixture and a spoonful of the cooled apple mixture in the center of each biscuit.

  5. Carefully fold the dough around the filling, pinching it to seal it completely. Shape the filled dough into bomb-like balls.

  6. Place the balls seam-side down on the prepared baking sheet. This will help to ensure they stay sealed during baking.

  7. In a separate bowl, mix together the crumble topping ingredients: flour, brown sugar, melted butter, and a pinch of cinnamon. Once combined, sprinkle this mixture generously over the top of each Apple Caramel Bomb.

  8. Bake the bombs in the preheated oven for 15 to 20 minutes or until they are golden brown and have that tremendous look that makes them impossible to resist.

  9. Once baked, remove from the oven and drizzle with caramel sauce and melted white chocolate or icing if desired. Each drizzle adds a touch of elegance and enhances the flavor profile.
